In early December Nick and I ran in the Dallas White Rock half marathon. We trained for months and all of our hard work finally paid off! It was a blast. Sam and our friend Jasper also ran with us. The course takes you through some really beautiful parts of Dallas, including my favorite part- Highland Park. The neighborhood is gorgeous! The best part was getting to see my mom unexpectedly at the beginning of the race. It pumped me up for the whole run! I will post some pictures from the event. I am just so thankful that I now have this hobby to share with Nick.
This year I had to work for Christmas so we were not able to join everyone for Cooper Christmas in Phoenix. We were bummed to have to miss it but Christmas still turned out to be a great one. We went to some friends house for a "tacky Christmas sweater" party. These are always fun! It worked out that I was cancelled early in the day on Christmas so we drove to Roswell and had dinner with the Castles. After a couple of days of r&r we went to the fabulous Las Vegas! Our present from the Castles was airfare and 4 nights at the Palazzo. We are so lucky! The six of us had the best time going out to dinner and a couple of shows. Vegas is always such a good place to get dressed up and go out. There is so much to do!
My mom came to Lubbock along with both of my sisters the weekend after New Years. It was nice to have a chance to spend some time together! Since then Nick and I have just been enjoying our time together and getting ready for our 2 year anniversary on the 31st! I have started a new diet, or "lifestyle" as it is referred to by Tosca Reno, called the Eat Clean Diet. So far I love it. It basically involves avoiding white flour, simple sugar, and processed foods. It is pretty easy - especially for people like me who love to cook. The hardest part as been no diet coke, however, I must admit I feel great!
Well I will definitely do a better job of keeping up with this! I have missed it!
