What a Great Weekend!

Hi Everyone!

First of all, thank you for checking out our blog. My friend Tiffani and I had this idea at work one day and we are loving it. What a great way for our friends and family to stay up to date with what is going on in our lives. Plus, I love doing it! Its like scrap-booking, but way cheaper!

This weekend was so much fun. Kelsey and Matt came to Lubbock. Matt is considering the law school at Texas Tech so they came up for a tour. (Everyone say a little prayer that he loved it so they will move here.) Friday night we had fun hanging out watching the Yankees game, then we went to Crickets. Unfortunately the Yankees lost....It was a rough weekend in sports for Nick. That game ended their season. It has been especially hard being a Yankees fan in Texas the last couple of weeks. All of the sudden everybody is a die hard Rangers fan. (No offense if you really are a die hard Rangers fan!) Then on Sunday the Bills went on to lose a close one to the Ravens. I am sure Nick would have much more to discuss about these topics.

Saturday morning we woke up after a late night and went to the American Heart Association's annual heart walk. My unit has been working hard for months to raise money for this event. I am proud to say our team raised $10,000, second only to the Lubbock Heart Hospital. That's right, it took an entire hospital to beat our individual unit. (Just a little friendly competition- for a good cause.)  Koda joined us for the event and was unofficially given the "cutest dog award" by the CEO of the hospital. What a fun way to get involved in the community. Heart disease affects so many people and families.
Its nice to think you made a small difference.

Saturday the boys went and hung out with their friends and Kels, Sam, and I had a girls day.  We went to this new wine bar called The Funky Door. If you haven't already been you have to go check it out. It is really nice inside. They give you the option of ordering a glass or bottle of wine- or you can load money onto a "wine card" and purchase either a taste, half glass, or full glass of wine. It was so much fun and a great way to try different things. Afterwards Kelsey and I  went to Las Brisas steak house for dinner.  I had a blast with Sam and Kels over the weekend- So sad it had to end.

Sunday Kelsey and Matt headed home and Jim and Ellen came to watch the Bills game with us. It was really nice to get to spend some time with them. They had driven through Thursday night on their way to the Rangers- Yankees game. On their way to Lubbock they got caught in the worst hail storm ever! The hail busted through their sunroof! Their car looked like someone beat it repeatedly with a bat! Luckily everyone was okay and they were still able to go to the game.

Bills Game!

Sunday evening Nick, Sam, and I enjoyed a peaceful  8 mile run through Tech campus. What a way to cap off a great weekend. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and Nick and I look forward to sharing a little of our lives with you.
Until next time!
